...Claiborne. Interesting, as they also stand his 1/2 brother War Front (who I'd 10x rather breed a mare to, but I digress). He is not retiring yet, according to the article in BH.

War Front and Political Force are not related.

Huh? Political Force is out of Glitter Woman and War Front is out of Starry Dreamer. They're not from the same family at all.

I'm sure they had him confused with someone else.

With that said, I really like Political Force and I'm glad to see Claiborne get him.

It's certainly a commercial play on their part, but that female family is VERY active and is one growing in respect in my book.

For what it's worth, and not to make this into a Storm Cat bashing thread, his unraced half-brother standing in Florida has been getting TONS of attention and big prices for his foals.

Whoops. Not sure why I had in my head that PF was out of Starry Dreamer. We're all wrong sometimes, I guess.

I don't really agree. From his official website, here are the lists of the best horses he has trained:

Sky Beauty, War Command, Beau Purple, Pocosaba Handsome Boy, Onion, Prove Out, Sensitive Prince Devil His Due, Classy Mirage, Admiral Vee, Kelly Kip, Shine On, Classy Morage. House Party.

Out of the males, only Devil His Due and Kelly Kip have made an impact at stud - and both made only minor impacts. Wagon Limit was another horse he had, but, aside from having one major winner, he hasn't done much.

I was kidding, La Troienne. Geesh!

How did the list leave off Group Plan, Society Selection, Shine Again, Miss Shop, Swap Fliparoo, Spite The Devil......?

Claiborne has become a stallion line disaster. Easing Along (Storm Cat), Eddington (Unbridled), Political Force (Unbridled's Song), First Samurai (Giant's Causeway), War Front (Danzig), and Stroll (Pulpit).

Mr P...where are you????

I'm not about to wade into the Unbridled/Storm Cat discussion, but what's wrong with War Front (Danzig)?

As a racehorse...nothing.

You can't be serious. War Front was a serious sprinter, just a notch below the best. His races in the Tom Fool and Vanderbilt last summer were outstanding. He reminds me a lot of Belong to Me, who Jerkens also trained, although he was a better racehorse than Belong to Me.

I really don't think that War Front and/or Political Force will be the next Joe Allen bred Dynaformer. Although, Dynaformer started out standing free to approved mares and he certainly proved himself.

War Front isn't from a strong stallion producing family, and if you think about all the new speedy Danzig blood coming to Kentucky, he's low rung on the sire line chain. It seems that Claiborne is on a mission to have all the top sire lines represented, but they're choosing a lot of the lesser of them. It wasn't like that at one time. *sigh*

If Claiborne still supported their new stallions, I'd think War Front would have a much better chance than strictly standing commercially.
