Pulpit is obviously AP Indy's best son at stud right now - can someone explain to me why Bernardini is at $100,000 while Pulpit is at $80,000? I'm sure that the Shiekh is supporting Bernardini like crazy, but Pulpit has already proven that he can sire a top racehorse and Bernardini hasn't proven anything yet.

Now Rokeby we know you know the answer to that. It's because Pulpit has been around for years and Bernardini is the Hot New Thing. Right now he holds the potential to be "any kind of a sire" as Kentucky hardboots like to say, and in that case everyone will want to think that they discovered him first. And that's worth paying for.

Pulpit is one of the most overrated sires in Kentucky. He sires nice sales horses more than good racehorses and doesn't do nearly enough with the kind of mares he sees. He reminds me of Forestry in that regard
