Distorted Humor
His fee has been announced at $300,000.00. Any thoughts?
The most promising of young stallions who's quickly making a case for himself, BUT, should he be at the same fee as both Indy and Storm Cat... proven stallions of exceptional quality and at least proven sire of sires of SOME (so far) recognition?
Seems folly to me. Priced at 200-250k, he can be a GREAT alternative to the big two... but priced at the same... that's asking for some issues in my opinion.
The one saving grace is, they both come from different sire-lines though. So in that regard, he will see mares that might not fit the other two as well.

Storm Cat is a proven sire of sires? Giant's Causeway's fee is dropping like a rock and Brogers hasn't yet decided on Forestry's fee. They're the only two standing at $100,000/+. I can't even think of a high profile Storm Cat son that's going to stud next year...can you?
Compared to Storm Cat, Distorted Humor's fee is a STEAL. What has Storm Cat sired in the last three years with the best book in the world compared to what Distorted Humor has sired with what he's had to work with? Who's selling better at the sales now? Who's more likely to have a "big" two year old next year?
I don't understand why AP Indy wasn't bumped up in 2008...what more does a sire have to do to earn an increase?
Also, if Mr Greeley can get $125,000 next year, Distorted Humor is worth EVERY penny of that $300,000 fee.

You keep saying Storm Cat has the best book in the world and that's far from the truth. In fact, he's NEVER had the best CI since he's been standing, BUT, he annually has a better AEI than any stallion in the 6 figures (new addition Street Cry not withstanding).
Keep on your anti-Storm Cat crusade all you want, but at least use facts, not inflated propaganda.
Distorted Humor is much more attractive at 250k to be the less expensive big name, as opposed to trying to to take on the former reigning king and the new heir at the top of the heap.
I don't see why anyone would choose him over Indy if the mare fit both... at this point, he's not as big of a commercial play and although he is getting terrific runners, the only horse he's ever produced with multiple G1 wins is Funny Cide, who, in all honesty, lost a LOT of luster over his career.
He's living on a ton of hype at the moment, and although much of it is justified, he's not turning out runners who are good at sustaining championship runs... at least at this point.
Mr. Greeley is absolutely ridiculously inflated. The horse took a huge jump based on auction prices and a European three year old filly who (probably) wont be getting champion 3 year old honors.
He's such a spotty stallion, BUT, if I'm looking to go to a commercial Mr. Prospector line horse for a home run, he and Street Cry are going to be a lot more attractive than Distorted Humor at multiples of their stud fee.

I thought you'd never ask!
Storm Cat, in 2007, has a career AEI of 3.42 over a CI of 3.61. In 2007, his AEI with that tremendous mare CI is 2.07. Maybe that's because he has only one Grade 1 winner.
Distorted Humor, in 2007, has a career AEI of 2.56 over a CI of 1.85. In 2007, his AEI with his prior books is 2.36. Maybe that's because he has three Grade 1 winners.
The choice between the two is a no-brainer if there ever was one.

He's not, huh? I guess Hysterical Lady is just a figment of imagination.
Storm Cat has had the strongest books of any sire. How many times was be bred back to a mare that produced a bum by him the first time around, knocking down her CI? It's because of AP Indy that Better Than Honour has a high CI...Storm Cat helped to knock it down. So, can it, Maven.

She lost championship honors to Ginger Punch and has exactly ONE G1 win to her credit... which plays into what I was saying. I have no doubt he will get more than 1 multiple G1 winner soon enough, but he hasn't done it yet.

At this point, I never expected that this thread would turn into another rant against Storm Cat. But I have been proved wrong again. Is there any way that you, Rokeby, can discuss the merits/pitfalls of Distorted Humor on his own merits or lack thereof. Please do not hijack another thread, for the nth time.

Oh gee...."only one Grade One" out of a Northair broodmare. How many Grade 1s have Storm Cats out of the top mares in the world won this year? As many as Hystericalady has.
George - you asked for thoughts. If you don't want intelligent thoughts, don't ask for them. This isn't a Storm Cat bash...it's a comparison between Distorted Humor and Storm Cat at the same stud fee.
Now you can go back to sleep.

This is the last time I comment on anything Storm Cat related in this thread... everyone knows how ridiculous you are about this... but once again... Storm Cat has NEVER HAD THE STRONGEST BOOK OF MARES IN HIS CAREER AT STUD!!!
Again, at least attempt to use facts.
And I'm not belittling Hystericalady's accomplishments. She's a very good filly... but other than Funny Cide, he has yet to get a horse who made a sustained run at championship honors.
Now you can continue being the bubble on the butt of humanity that you are.

I don't think anyone will ever get it through Rok's head that his beloved Indy is the one who's been getting the best mares (by CI) for YEARS, NOT Storm Cat.
Oh...and Rok couldn't think of any high profile Storm Cat's to go to stud next year? Will After Market do?

Do I need to repeat myself? I guess I do:

He's one of those people who will spew propaganda and untrue statements hoping people will take them as fact.
So be it. My hands are washed when it comes to the Cat and him.

A four year old that didn't earn $1 Million his career? Nope.
And...could it be that Tranquility Lake's CI isn't what it should be because of Jalil?
I fail see how Storm Cat's 2.07 AEI in 2007 did anything to increase his broodmares' CIs...which is why Storm Cat has a lower CI than does AP Indy - it's his fault!

Exactly, I was expecting intelligent thoughts, like Maven's, not the crap that you continually spew.
Um, George....for the great sire that Giant's Causeway is, he 2008 fee took another drop. I wonder how many foal shares he's booked to this year.
