Good for you guys. You would think with all the money in the Ontario, Canada racing incentives program, some of the big farms would bring up stallions like these. NO!!! we get Weather Warning a stakes winner ( Manitoba listed race. ) of 133k. pathetic!!!
and you wonder why people ship to KY to breed. Duh???

Thanks for the words of encouragement Jenny & bdw0617... our residency program makes PA sires a hard sell right now, but , these guys are worth it, they had long careers and should be a bit commercial as well as produce hardknocking race-horses, which is what a breeder in PA would want!

My sentiments exactly. Foxtale , that is what a few of us have been commenting on lately. Hard knocking good quality stallions. That is why we bought GONE FISHIN to Ontario. He had a whopping 60 career starts!! is well bred and had a decent race record. So, good for your program down there. This is one reason I find it hard to breed out of Ontario, because of the huge incentives, esp. if you are a breed to race operation as we are.

I just got some info from the CTHS. They are changing our residency program to be somewhat similar to PA's. As it has been in the past i don't think there was a requirement. You could buy a mare in KY and ship it in the day before and BINGO!! and Ontario bred. I am glad to see them change it. Maybe then these owners won't be sending all their $ to KY ( no offense ) but board their mares at some of the little guys places here in Southern Ontario. :D
