Has been retired to Darley at Jonabell and will stand for $40K.

I think 40k is a very reasonable price for him. Not bargin basement but not Forestresque either.

I agree, withholding my feelings on that unjustly priced $100K stallion, I feel AGS is fairly priced.

Along with Corinthian I would say they are as good a value as we'll see for 1st crop stallions.

Remember, AGS dusted Curlin over the dry Monmouth strip in the Gr 1 Haskell.

Now now, Exchange Rate might be willing to disagree with you.

Yeah...the Bid has a whole lot to do with Exchange Rate being a success. Maybe The Bid is what's keeping Exchange Rate from being the next Danehill?

$40,000 huh?... don't you know PT Barnum is just begging to get back to earth so as to play in the horse business. "One born every minute" is apropo for TB racing.

I think Hard Spun is far better value at his price than AGS.

Actually, compared to First Samurai at $40,000, anything is a bargain.

Let me live in my fantasy land !!!! Though the duplicate crosses of Northern Dancer and Raise a Native prob doesn't hurt. But aside from that I still think the Bid gets shortchanged in some of these good horses. Genetics are a funny thing. Hell look at people who don't have a thing in common with their parents but will with grand parents or great grand parents.... I am still pleased with AGS, though I only wish he could have run more...like I wish that for about 99.9% of them.......

Da Bid was Da Bum! Any success he had was on the coattails of a broodie's family. He brought nothing to the table and left it emptier.
