In-Breeeding To Darshaan

Postby Stuttgart » Mon Nov 12, 2007 4:46 am

Hi guys,

I'm going through potential matings for the mares next season and keep coming back to a cross for one particular mare in which the resulting foal would be 3s x 3D inbred to Darshaan. What is the boards opinions on this cross? My unregistered version of G1 Goldmine isn't giving me too much encouragement, it must be said. I best add that breeding a horse that will take time to mature and will more than likely be a stayer is not considered a negative thing by myself for this particular mating.

Hard to know really without seeing the whole pedigree but as you probably know, sadlers wells had great success with Darshaan mares. Polish precedent and green desert, both Danzigs, also worked out more than once. Maybe sons of those guys might work. There are a few green desert sons around that I like, Invincible spirit being the most obvious. Ballyhane are now standing Green diamond who also looks interesting. For Polish precedent there is Rakti at the national stud.
