first year stallions

Let me ask you guys in the know..
under what circumstances is it financially prudent to send a mare to a stallion the first year standing?
I can't think of any.
First of all, if you can wait until the 2nd or even 3rd year, the offspring still haven't hit the track, you don't have to worry about the price going drascitally UP, in fact 8 out of 10 times it will go down a little. from 100k to 75k, from 50k to 40k because the hype has worn off, and you have to convince people to come to you, and they have not seen the horse in 2 years.
Also, you want to give time for the first crop to hit the track. Say you liked street cry, but waited 2 years to go to him. This year you would have a STreet Cry yearling, with the success of STreet Sense, cry and catch me, how can we forget greenstreet, and others.
I really cannot think of any situtation, I mean unless they are having firesales for stud prices because they love your mare, that it is finanically sound to go to a stud first year standing.
I'm not saying it's not, that's why I posed the questoion. is there?
