Just wanted to know everyones opinion on the TB stallion Gigabyte. A friend of mine is going to breed one of his mares to this stallion and it's his first season standing to outside mares. I believe he's located in Pennsylvania.
So what do you like or dislike about this stallion?

Without doing some extensive digging on Baederwood, at first blush he looks like he was an okay stallion, with some stakes horses. There is one that made over $700K. However, he didn't appear to have any grade 1 winners. As to Gigabyte's dam line, there is not much to say about Big Burn. There seems to be too much itty-bitty black type and none of the real kind for Gigabyte to qualify to actually earn money covering mares.
It is always possible for Gigabyte to throw completely beyond himself, and there are always exceptions. But his tiny black type was earned in a 2nd and a 3rd, at 6 and 7, in a couple of $35K handicaps. He earned $150K in 64 starts. To me, there is nothing about this horse that says "SIRE."

So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
