My stallions first winner

Postby bcassidy » Fri Dec 07, 2007 6:30 pm

My stallion, Honor Defend, had his first winner at Philly Park today. In Quaga's Honor ran in the 6th race today, a 40k MCL and won at odds of 17 to 1. It was her first time going long. I asked the owner/trainer to try her going a distance because she looked to me like she really wanted the distance. I can't wait to see her going long on the turf next spring. She paid $36.00 to win and did it pretty easy.
One down hopefully many more to come. It is really exciting to see a foal you helped raise run well, especially when it is by a stallion you own.
best regards Brendan

Congratulations Brendan, I can only imagine how it feels to breed and raise a winner by your own stallion. I have 2 stallions standing in LA and will have to wait 2 more years. This game was built on hopes and dreams. I go look at the weanlings and wonder which one could be the big horse. I hope you and your stallion do well and hopefully the filly will win many more.

Good Luck,
Larrygene

Congratulations!

Our stallion's first foals arrive this spring. We're hoping to know exactly how you feel, a couple years from now.

Thanks for everyones kind thoughts and well wishes. It is great to be able to share my good news with people who know how difficult this game is. I wish nothing but good things for all the people on the same "long trail".
This was not something that I had planned on doing, it just fell into my lap and I knew what I had to do. So far, everything has gone very well for me. I hope I can say the same thing in another year. This will be a very big year for me because many of his foals will hit the tracks this coming year. The foals, yearlings and older horses all look great so I am very excited about his potential.
best regards Brendan

Brendan,
I tuned in for that one. She's a lovely filly, big and scopey. Like you, I'll look forward to seeing her stretch out on the weeds. Congrats!
