if anyone is going to the Northview Stallion Station stallion show tomorrow, can you let me know (public or PM) your opinion of Two Punch? I know he is getting up there in age but does he seem healthy, alert, etc.? If they keep in how they've done it in the past, he will be in his stall but they'll not parade him in the show.
Thanks.

two punch
Two Punch joined the show today, and he stayed ground level !!
looks good
Dr. Bowman says that they are not going to limit his book,
but they are going to limit the amount of times that he will cover
any mare to 3. so three strikes and you're out.
he's one of my favorites

griff, this might sound pessimistic, but I think they list the horse as "private" and then they quote you a fee based on what they think of your mare. Of course, that is just my opinion, I have no proof, so this could just be wild speculation on my part.
A separate matter - I was talking with Walmac about Sunday Break, and the gal mentioned they are offering discounts for state-bred programs. So you could get to Sunday Break for $3750 if you are foaling OUTSIDE KY. Interesting.

So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
Thanks madelyn
I suspect you are correct about the "private treaty" but then most of the advertised fees are also negotiable IF you have the right mare..
Sunday Break has an awsome pedigree but my two mares are in-foal to Rogulet's Indy mood and if those foals are to be eligile for the 40% WV BREEDERS bonus they have to drop in WV and their dams have to be bred to a WV stallion.
The WV stallion I've booked for 2008 is Limit Out and according to the 2008 Thoroughbred Times Stallion directory he has a $58,615 average per runner with 2 stakes winners and 3 stakes wins this year and 33 total starters from 44 foals [75%], and he's doing this with average Mid Atlantic mares.
The mare we are considering for Two Punch belongs to my partner and will drop her PABRED Not for Love foal in PA so it will be eligible for the PABRED incentives.. She's been in PA since September so we can breed her out of state but I think dragging a new-born all th eway to Ky is asking for trouble.
Thanks again for the info and I'll keep it in mind for next year.
