Going Wild
This horse intrigues me a bit. He had real deal ability but was like every other horse with talent in Lukas's barn and was horriably mismanaged. It seemed he was just run into the ground early in his 3 year old year & still managed to come back to run a couple of decent races as a late 3 & 4 year old. I think he was best at 7/8 to a mile & could compete at 3/4 as he was fast. I'm not much on Golden Missle but I love Strawberry Road & GW bottom bottom is nice going back to Gay Hostess & a full to the 2nd dam of Real Quiet. I figure if you had a good Quiet American or Unbridled line mare this guy might be worth looking at for 2k in Okl if your breeding for a racehorse. Thoughts?

He won the Michael Schaeffer Stakes at Hoosier.
I just loved how Lukas managed this horse - if you think he still belongs in the Hall Of Fame, consider: Going Wild lost the Wood Memorial by 38 lengths, then ran 18th in the KY Derby, and then ran last in the Preakness. As a 4 year old, Lukas thought enough of him to ship him to Saratoga so that he could lose by 21 lengths in an optional claimer written for Discreet Cat.
When was he retired - he was just scratched from a turf stake at the Fair Grounds. At least his new connections are doing what's right for him and not running him just to get their names in a track program.

Not a bad effort - he doesn't shoot to the lead and pack it in any more.
