CAPTAIN RED - why no interest?

Can't understand why a stallion who still holds the record for 6 furlongs at Aqueduct and is a son of Mr. Greeley - that he breeds very few mares.
For $3000 he is a bargin - he ran until he was 7yrs old - who sees that any more? Big good looking stallion that throws very correct foals, who could ask for more. See for yourself at www.saratogaglenfarm.com and let me know what you think.

thats a good question-his foals should be 3 yrs old this year. Has he had any winners?

Maybe stand him for free for a year! If he 'throws very correct foals' like you say and some of them show some run, the mare owners will be back.

his first foals are 2yos this year.....and thus will be the first crop to to race......i saw him last year and was impressed. his yearlings from last year looked very nice.he seems to stamp his foals or so it seemed to me.this will be an interesting year for him .

this is the year to try it......as this is his comming out party so to speak. :wink:

I know they have been giving away free seasons - you should enquire.
Its always hard when you advertise for free, not to hurt the stallion - but anyone who calls I know they have been giving them a season. If his 2yr olds run well I'm sure this will be the last year to get that free season.
Apparently his 2yr olds are training well, so looking forward to see how they run.

Mary Roland was a decent producer and Larceny Gal is full to Stepping High the dam of Buckaroo and Flare Pass. The Flare Pass branch is responsible for G-1 winner Latent Heat.

He has a lot going for him. I guess everyone wants to see how the foals run, but if he doesn't breed many mares the number of horses making it to the track will be slim. It only takes one horse to run well, but he deserves more of a chance.

I have a couple clients I sent your way for Capt. Red. They are not the strongest mares, but I know you are looking for numbers, The one mare was actually a pretty good runner, earning $100,000. The other a Dixie Brass. I told them about your post and to call Dan direct. Good Luck!

I know Dutrow is training one of his two year olds, so look out for 'Tinto' this year in his barn.

Good to hear Tinto is in training - we had him up here @ Morrisville in the fall to break - one of the oddest looking TBs markings wise I've seen - I thought he was a paint from the western program at first lol -- Can't wait to see him hit the track
