Midatlantic Thoroughbred Article

Postby bcassidy » Fri Feb 08, 2008 9:28 pm

The Midatlantic Thoroughbred Magazine did a great job in a little article about my stallion Honor Defend. Honor had his first runner/winner at Philly Park about one month ago---a 40k maiden claimer going one mile. A young lady by the first name of Cindy called me and ask me some questions about Honor and said that she would put his name in the magazine marking his first winner but I had no idea she would do such an excellent job on the article. I was very pleased with what she wrote. When I spoke to her on the phone I had no idea that she would do such a great job. I would like to hear what others think of the article if you get a chance to read it.
The article is in the most recent magazine---the one with Sagamore Farm on the cover. Pleasantly surprised with the effort from such a noteworthy magazine. I had no idea what a nice job they would do with information I provided. Anyone looking to promote a stallion please take note.
best regards Brendan

The online version only has the lead article posted along with the editorial page, etc. to go to.

I'll have to check it out bcassidy!

bcassidy,

Congratulations on Honor Defend's first winner.

That is a very nice article in the Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred. Cindy Deubler and the other folks that put out the magazine really go out of their way to cover "the little guy" in racing and breeding. They really care!

Some other foals by Honor Defend

Postby bcassidy » Mon Feb 11, 2008 2:24 pm

For anyone interested in tracking my stallion's progeny. we have a couple making their way to the races.

Our Royal Affair is in training at Palm Meadows with Jason Servis (brother to John Servis---trainer of Smarty Jones, etc) ORA just worked 4f in 50 and change and galloped out great. This is only his second work and seems to be waking up a bit. He worked in company with another three yr old by Yes Its True and looked very good in the work. I think ORA will be a very good 2 turn horse.

Made By Honor is a 3 yr old filly in training at Philly with Diane Jeannont. MBH just worked her second 5 furlong work and should be ready to run in the next few weeks if everything goes well. She has lots of speed and looks to be a nice runner. We can't wait for Jersey racing to open in a few months.

Dead Money is a 3 yr old gelding that was training very well last year but started to develop some shin soreness so they backed off on him and will bring him back this spring. He just started to train on again and should be ready to run when Monmouth opens. Diane Jeannont will train this one as well.

In Quaga's Honor won her maiden for 40k going a mile at Philly and I can't wait for her to run back again. She was entered in a AOT at Philly going a mile again but they had to scratch her because of an abcess in the hoof. She has recovered from that and should be ready to be entered in another race within the next few weeks. She should be very good going long on the turf. She is also trained by Diane Jeannont.

Manny's Diablo is a 3 yr old that needed more time because of his size and should be ready to run when Monmouth opens this spring. He is being trained and is owned by Manuel Berrios.

Erin Go Bey is in NC being broken and will hopefully be able to run as a 2 yr old. She will be trained by Ben Perkins Jr when she goes to Monmouth later this spring. She is owned by Bob Dweck.

Tony Foglia owns four 3 yr olds by Honor Defend.
Keep Diggin, Hav'n a fog attack, Drum Drop and Honor Bet.
I believe Hav'n a fog attack worked 3f at Philly about a week ago in 37 flat. He is being trained by Ramon Martin.

We also have some others coming along nicely but it will probably be another 3 to 4 months before they should get their first start.
best regards Brendan
