Just got word of this today- fee of $3500 He will arrive later this week. Now there are 2 sons of Danzig at Elite. Which is the better one? My Friend Max (Full brother to Outflanker) who has put up some good numbers with lesser mares or the newly arrived Brahms?
This is my first post- but I've been enjoying reading the discussions on this board for a couple of months.

I have worked with a couple Brahms geldings. One had a leg that was so crooked it scared me, and I don't think he ever made a start. He was a nice big, handsome boy (besides that leg).
The other is a (now) 4-year-old who is a sturdy, handsome boy, with awful hind legs, short pasterns, and is recovering from a knee chip. He is a courageous horse though, gives it his all when he runs.
I don't know about anyone else's opinion of Brahms.

Is it me or am I all wrong?? Danzig seems to throw attractive individuals and precocious runners but I would not classify him as a true stand out sire of sires. To me he is a hit or miss sire at best. I just never have been real excited over a Danzig at stud. I understand he has sired some very good sons, i.e., Danehill, but to me they are few and far between considering the mares he has been bred to. Do I stand corrected???
We foaled out a really nice looking Brahms filly for a client last year. We were actually trying to bring him to our farm for a year or 2. What they wanted to lease him for a year was probably 1/2 of what the horse was worth. The Vinery must have really wanted to hold onto that board money. He's a nice fit in a regiaonal market, LA runs enough on the turf, I think he's pretty good at that price.

Have you been to Elite to see My friend Max? Just wondered if you will go back to see Brahms and to compare.

Thanks for the welcome RaginCajun. Folsom has become quite the hot spot for TB breeding again.
My mare (Breezy Mistress)is bred to My Friend Max for this year, I do like the numbers he has put up, and he is built like a tank.
I'll be seeing Brahms soon because one of the mares we board is booked to him.
