1 stakes winner from 22 foals is "amazing" considering WE chose the mares he would breed to...

What is disturbing is that WE is having breathing problems...probably from all the drugs the Japanese shot into WE to get his libido going. He won't live long, unfortunately.

Looks like they should continue to let War Emblem "choose" his mares!

What gets me is they keep trying...and to me it seems like forcing the issue with him. If he doesn't have the mind to breed, leave him alone. I swear, anything for the all mighty dollar and yen....

How is 1 SW from 22 foals "amazing"? I suppose if you buy into the new KY hype that a 5% stallion is successful.

It's not. Intidab had 1 SW from SIX foals in his first crop. THAT was amazing.

it's amazing because virtually no human thought is going into the matings. this is "does WE like her or not". that's pretty much the extent of it.

they need to give it up. seriously.

Who knows..maybe he will be the Japanese equivalent of Domino--few foals, but still carry on a legacy?

If they haven't tried, think they should just put him in a pasture with a few mares and let him be.

According to this BloodHorse article War Emblem has had several stakes winners. Shonan Alba won the Kyodo News Service Hai Stakes, which the JBIS lists as a Japanese group III event, on February 11 at Tokyo Racecourse. It sounds like he has had decent success from his very small foal numbers.
