El Prado does well with Roberto line mares

Kitten's Joy-Kitten's Firtst by Lear Fan
Asi Siempre by El Prado-Siempre Asi by Silver Hawk
Elysium Fields by El Prado-Dreams by Silver Hawk
Senor Swinger by El Prado-Smooth Swinger by Kris S.

He also does well with Alydar line mares

Borrego by El Prado-Sweet As Honey by Strike The Gold
Buffalo Man by El Prado-Perfect Six by Saratoga Six
Chindi by El Prado-Rousing by Alydar
Timo by El Prado-Elocat's Burglar by Criminal Type
Cloak of Vagueness by El Prado-Moving Picture by Alysheba

Why haven't they bred Maggy Hawk to El Prado?

Wouldn't it be interesting if they breed Nashoba's Key to El Prado.

El Prado

Very nice info Keith. Since my checkbook would not cover El Prado, have you looked at his sons? Thoughts on them and their chances? I might be able to convince one of the farms to "Hold a Check" on one of his sons.

Artie Schiller looks like a good deal

Postby Keith » Tue Feb 26, 2008 7:27 pm

Artie Schiller won the Breeder's Cup Mile over Leroidsanimaux. He is out of multiple Grade I winner Hidden Light. He comes from the family of Ferdinand and Prince True. Of all the El Prados he offers more value than Kitten's Joy and Medaglia D'Oro and at least half the price. Unproven stallions are always risky. I do like Artie Schiller alot.

great timing on this post. I found a son of El Prado near by... and now I have to debate a bit. He's not the stakes winning stallion I wanted, but if he is attractive and correct I might still be interested in sending my old Silver Hawk mare to him.

Anyone ever hear of El Crusader? He stands in Illinois. By El Prado out of a Relaunch mare. This is the female family of Grey Flight and his 3rd dam is Flitalong. Closer up, not so much black type... SIGH

Keith-- Amen! I like A.S as well and I couldn't agree more on the value aspect. We just had and Artie Schiiler filly a couple of weeks ago and she is a beauty. One more on the way next week. I've seen a few of his foals now and they all resemble him so far. That's what I'm hearing from others as well.

I sold a Bold Ruckus-line mare as a broodmare prospect and the new owner sent her to Artie Schiller. I wasn't that impressed with the cross but the foal is fantastic looking. He may be one to prove me wrong.

You certainly can't fault his female family. Very classy branch of Frizette. And we all know this family can get some very good stallions.

I was talking to a Taylor Made employee yesterday--he said from the foals he's seen Artie S seems to be passing along a nice hip, which is certainly the case with our filly. I'm quite high on Artie and were breeding back at least one mare this year.
