Young broodmare sires

French Deputy tops my list as he is one of a short handful that when going through a salesbook I have to check out all of his mares & or colts out of mares by him. Wild Rush is another I'm gaining on. For really young unproven ones Awesome Again is at the top as I'm pretty dead set on buying a mare by him that fits this year at the Keeneland or Adena Springs sales. I was curious as to everyones first thought picks & looks on this topic?

I think any good mare by quality sons of Deputy Minister merits consideration as a broodmare. Silver Deputy isn't "young" per se but check out the up and coming broodmare sire record for Dehere sometime (Midnight Lute) and Salt Lake (Fire Slam) and even the "cheaper" ones like The Prime Minister (Sinister Minister) and Open Forum (Atlas Shrugs).

As for French Deputy, at 16 he's already had 6 graded SWs and SP Visionaire may go off as a mild favorite in the Gotham. Pretty impressive.

I think Tabasco Cat is developing into a very nice broodmare sire, despite his move to Japan and his early demise. His son, Snow Ridge is doing pretty decent as a 3rd crop sire (currently ranked 19th).

I too am on the Wild Rush bandwagon, small as it is at this point. Picked up a young mare last year and just love her.

If you want a young young BM sire that will pop in the next year or so, try Siphon. Every Siphon mare that goes through gets a look from here on out.

I think Event Of The Year mares will prove to be good producers on the west coast.

I'm noticing Rubiano mares seem to be quality producers, too...not that he's all that young, but still...

I also will agree with the Wild Rush assessment. I bought one last year and she's a great looking girl. She was tough on the track and won in very good company.

But with a Euro bottom line and Wild Rush never having been in much favor, she passed for rather cheap at the sale.

Anyone else notice WR really stamps his get? All the WR mares I've seen all have a great rear and a great shoulder.

WR is probably the best sire by Wild Again so far and look at what Wild Again is doing as a BMS!!! The Japanese only buy the best. WR is a very good sire and should be a very good BMS.
