I was a Boundary supporter and intended to breed to him and then he up and died. He had fallen out of favor in recent years but had been a decent to good sire overall. Now, along comes Big Brown and suddenly the industry is "missing" Boundary. Ones own intuitions generally serve you best.

I think what Aurora is referring to is that Deputy Commander has been taken out of stud duty for the remainder of the breeding season due to an "undisclosed illness." He's been at UC Davis for tests, they were going to bring him back, if they haven't already, to Ballena Vista sometime in the near future. Didn't seem to be life-threatening, but BV had announcements about him being out of commission on most of the Calif. breeding sites. He's been near the top of the Calif sire lists for a couple of years, so this is quite a blow. It's too bad.
