Lots of horses that never made it into US consciousness. Dr. Roman should consider taking off his Northern Hemisphere blinkers.
I keep running into Nonoalcho (sp) in chasing pedigrees. He's not a Roman chef, but he is an Aussie one.
Australian dosage--very interesting

Australian dosage--very interesting
Thread Killer Extraordinaire
In Australia at least, Noalcoholic, a top class miler by a top class miler, did sire stock of a distinct aptitudinal type.
His best progeny were milers or sprinter/ milers almost without exception. One who won at just past 8f was his Group One winning miler, Sober Suit, whose dam was by S/P chef Stage Door Johnny.
Please note Noalcoholic is not described as a Chef, the term used is A-NZ Keysire, which in most cases probably equates to Dr Roman's non-chef sires list on his website. But since only 3 A-NZ stallions have ever been designated chefs-de-race, the most recent was foaled about 60 years ago, you can see the point I'm sure.
With Noalcoholic, if we stuck by the book, the Dosage contribution of his sons and daughters to the next generation is nil (BTW, he is the grand sire of a good young sire here in Falvelon, a champion sprinter himself).
Put simply, by recognising the horse as an Intermediate influence, the Dosage interpretation of pedigrees where he appears becomes that much more relevant and, dare I say, more accurate in general terms.
