I have removed a few posts and wanted to step in before anything got started here.

I have no problem with a legitimate notice being posted, but I won't allow public discussion regarding the person involved.... that qualifies as one of those "taboo topics" on this particular forum, due to past issues and circumstances.

Thanks, all, for your cooperation...

I'm at my horse limit right now but very curious to see what Siberian Summer sells for. He's sired some very nice stakes horses.

For the record, my motivation was to let folks know a very good California sire was for sale. Debated whether to post on Buying/Selling forum and opted for here.

I agree, Siberian Summer would be a nice addition for most CA farms. It will be interesting to see what he brings.

I wouldn't mind attending, but the last time this owner's horses were scheduled for auction, he settled with the boarding farm right before the auction... leaving those who had traveled holding the bag for travel expenses. I'll probably have to get in touch with someone nearby who can look for me.

Anyone know anything about the mares and foals being offered?

How is it that they're selling the '08 foals independent of their dams? If different people purchase the mare and the baby, how's that gonna work out?

Just curious. Since Bill Hedricks is still part owner on the sire, will he have to buy out the rest of the horse, if so does this mean no one else can buy him? I would like to know as I have friends who might be interested.

I did hear that anyone who buys him will receive ALL the stallion awards for 2008. That in itself might be worth it, even if the sire is up in age at 19.

If Bill owns part, he must out bid all others to gain ownership. That said if he owns half the horse and bids and hammer falls at $20,000 for example, he only owes $10,000 since he owns half.

It will be interesting to see what he brings in light of the 2008 breeders awards going to the high bidder. He topped $50k in 2007..

Sale has been cancelled so it looks like he paid up again. Why not just keep paid up? This style is ruining this stallion's chances at a good career.

I got an email today from Windfall Farms saying that Mr Power had filed chapter seven and the auction would be held in June at another location.

He's a better stallion than given credit for. He could be a very nice addition to a roster for someone.

I hope someone gets him this time and is willing to commit to him. Um, his career. :)
