Last I heard he was still at Darby Dan but "retired." There was talk of rehoming him to stand in another state but I don't know the status of that.

Can we assume these numbers are because of fertility issues and not lack of interest?

I thought it was lack of interest.. Wasn't he VERY small??
I saw him at Arlington and remember him as TINY. I could be wrong.. Perfect Circle my stallion is 17.1hh and THICK.. so most horses look small to me.

Hi Guys,

I am pretty sure it is lack of interest on the part of breeders wanted to
breed to Hap. He is small but was a heck of a runner. I bred a medium size mare to him, who usually throws big foals. I have 2 year old that is put together nicely but on the small side. He looks a lot like Hap. He sure won't let any of the other horses push him around. He has a very scrappy attitude.
Hap just hasn't produced enough to stand in KY. I am sure he will end up in a regional market. When I was looking to replace my stallion last summer I called and talked to them about Hap. They wanted too much money for what he has produced. There wasn't much interest in anyone purchasing him either so the owner was going to set on him awhile.

I was very interested in breeding to him. I mean, a millionaire performer by a champion out of champion... what's not to love.

yeah, he was a bit diminutive, but i have two words for that.... NORTHERN DANCER. Ok, that was just a size comparision.

I'd love to know where he ended up.
