I hope it's the Green Monkey. I've been hoping Calilfornia would pick up another high powered, Kentucky calibre stallion. Am I right?

Thanks Jenny! Any ideal what stallion GEF is promoting? I thought they were closing out the business. I noticed the were selling off horses in phase III of their major reduction, at Keeneland.

Wow, interesting selection if true. S.F. would go heads up with leading Storm Cat sons, Sea of Secrets and Tribal Rule, who both stand at 5K. Not to mention several other Storm Cat sons who are just getting started and/or priced lower.
Stormin Fever will have the advantage of 2% graded stakes winners (6) from starters, a major advantage in yearling average, and a slim advantage on median earnings. Granted, Stormin Fever has been given better mares at 1.55 CI compared to 1.11 for Tribal Rule & 1.15 for Sea of Secrets.
S.F. appears to be on beautiful stallion from what I can see on the TT interactive stallion directory, coupled with the new appearance might give GEF a temporary jump in mares at 5k. I think when T.R. big books go to the races he'll distingquish himself above the other Storm Cats.
Not really a stand out move imo with all the Storm Cat blood in Ca. but I like the Slew on the bottom, absent Crowning Storm, who flopped. I look forward to seeing S.F. in the flesh (if true) and I will be very happy if GEF continues to contribute to California's ailing Thoroughbred economy.
Oh, I forgot his 55th ranking in N.A. with $3,291,395 with 149 starters & 71 winners would place him squarely in the #2 slot of leading sires in Ca. Barely loosing to Bernstein in N.A. whos ranked 54th (at 20K) who has 43 mores starters. That is substantial, and GEF likes to be in the top rankings.

He is a beautiful animal. Surprised that they would let him go, it isn't like he's a failure. But I guess anything has a price.

i'm not sure, but I believe they're using the phrase storm warning --not meaning the actual stallion Storm Warning. I only say that because the ad mentions that this "sire" is a proven sire of grade 1 winners and a nationally ranked sire. so we'll see...
