Mustanfar and Will he Shine as Stallions

Postby radrider » Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:31 pm

What do you guys think about Mustanfar and Will he Shine as new stallions?

Mustanfar ran from his two year old year to six, accumulating over 600,000 on both dirt and turf. And it also looks like he has the crop-out paint gene found in Thoroughbreds, he has little white specks all over his body. He's from the last crop of Unbridled. By Unbridled out of Manwah by Lyphard

Will he Shine is a half-brother to Cuvee standing at Millenium Farms. He only ran from 3 to 5 but still made 300,000. By Silver Deputy out of Christmas Star by Star de Naska

Honestly I dont think too much of either. Will He Shine seemed to just get good over a very short window leaving me to question his true ability. Add the way the Cuvees have run so far & I would def pass on him. Mustanfar was a 2nd or 3rd tier distance turf horse, something I cant see being appealing at all & his second dam is about the other thing to look twice at when evaulating his pedigree & I cant see that being enough.

Both are physical nightmares, particularly Will He Shine. He's a mess in every imaginable way. Small, weak hindquarters, no bone, offset knees.

In what way is Mustanfar a physical nightmare? I've seen him but I can't remember that much about him other than he really has that Unbridled look.

For $2,500 what the hell do you want. His second dam produced Nashwan, Nayef and Unfuwain, which makes her pretty damn nice (there are nice horses that run in Europe...see Raven's Pass). He's by Unbridled and was a geaded horse on Dirt, Turf and Poly. Making him pretty versatile. I guess if he out nodded Limehouse (who stands for 7x his fee) in the Tampa Bay Derby he would have just been a dirt horse, and running 4th in the Blue Grass means nothing either. He was more effective on the turf and later poly so was kept there, but he still was a nice horse on dirt and with that record and pedigree is a great option at $2,500. More so if you breed to race, since market man would rather have a Mr. Sekiguchi or some other 3 race wonder.

The stud fee could be free & it would be of no matter to me as I stated my honest opinion of this horse & undoubtly you did as well but if running 4th in the Blue Grass tickles your fancy then thats your problem. You obviously like also rans as stallions by the presence of Impeachment on your stallion roster. And please explain to me how I am a "market man" when you know nothing about me or my bloodstock preferences? As what you stated is far from the truth & I dont really appericate you trying to put words in my mouth. The person asked for an opinion on a couple of stallions & I gave mine.

WOW, slow down now. I said a Multiple GSW and Graded Stakes Placed on Poly and Dirt by Unbridled out of a 1/2 sister to 3 solid European horses was a good value at $2,500.
I don't know what the original poster is planning on doing with the foal, so if breeding to sell "Market Man" may not be too interested.

Market Man: def. The general public who are buying at the sales, maybe I should have added Market Woman also in order to eliminate any confusion and mud slinging.
used in sentance: Market Man/Woman sure loves paying 15x the stud fee for those "insert you least favorite hyped horse" this year.

I do apologize if I stated anything that offended you or your stallion or opinions of as I misread your statement thinking you were not speaking in such general terms.

Does anyone know the answer to the above question? This is driving me nuts! Cannot remember this horse's legs to save my life!
