2009 Stallions

Postby newyorkmary » Mon Nov 10, 2008 10:07 am

Has anyone had a chance to go see any of the new stallions? Who looks good? Who has problems? Who do you think will be hot? I am especially interested in

Divine park
First Defence
Harlington
Lewis Michael
Student Council
tiz Wonderful
Zanjero

Thanks.

Hello nymary,

I visited Airdrie about a week ago with our bloodstock advisor. We both loved Divine Park. He has terrific balance and plenty bone. He handled himself with such class. An excellent example of how a horse should look.
We also liked Harlan's Holiday, although the $30k fee might keep us away.

We were unable to see First Defence, I don't think he had arrived yet. I am intrigued a bit by him, although not really high on Unbridled's Song's offspring at stud. Beautiful family though, very closely related to DP's sire as I'm sure you know.

Lewis Michael did not really standout in any aspect the day we saw him. Might appeal to some as he's a nice horse, although a bit light on size in our opinion.

The others you mentioned we did not visit. I hope my $.02 can help you, although I recommend any breeder who is able go visit the stallions to get their own opinion.

Tesio,

Thank you for your reply - very helpful. I agree about the importance of seeing the stallions in person. Unfortunately, i don't think we will be able to get down there this year, which is why we will probably go to proven sires this year that we have seen in the past.

thanks again.
