Just saw that some kind soul had posted a rather lovely picture of the old boy on his link in PQ - still looking pretty doggone good at 22 years young.
I know he came over here from England - but thought that he was also either English or Irish bred - how can I find that out for certain?
Can anybody tell me if Adbass is still with us? We bred two really nice geldings from him out of a Murrtheblurr mare, one of whom is still with us. He looks more like his sire every passing year.
Adbass?

No idea if he's still around, but he was KY-bred.

Well, that's sad to hear, but thanks very much for letting me know.
The photo on his PQ page looks like he was having a pretty good life, it's "dated" 2007. He was a sweetheart of a stallion when I met him a dozen years ago - that was when he was still standing at Leckbee Thoroughbreds in Onalaska WA, and owned by Aziz Al Saud.
I think the owner's rep kind of poisoned the stallion's chances of getting a great mare book, but the few he did get tended to be useful racehorses.
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas.

That Equineline report is odd - I know for a cold hard fact that the horse had a lot more than 4 foals of racing age - that I know personally!

Maybe that's just offspring listed after the certificate re-issue.....
whatever.

Hallo,
the name of the dam of the abovementioned Sire (now deceased) has a familiar ring to me. I wasn't wrong, Somfas is the Granddam of the German Sire Ransom O'War (by Red Ransom). He was purchased for German owners and raced succesfully in my Home country.
He stood at first at the Faehrhof Stud, but moved to the Auenquelle Stud., for more info see: ransom-o-war.de
He has now, his first 2 year old runners
Best regards from Germany, Bettina

Ah, you are so correct...
http://www.equineline.com/Free-5X-Pedigree.cfm?page_state=PROCESS_SUBMIT&horse_name=AdAblurr&foaling_year=1996&dam_name=MurrPhil&x=51&y=16&nicking_stats_indicator=Y
THAT'S much better - not bad stats for the old boy, given his lack of opportunity.
Thanks again!
