It's No Joke
He brings some interesting stuff when hypo-mated to my mare. Has anyone seen him in person? What are your thoughts? This would be his third year and therefore very risky by the time a foal from the 2009 breeding season hits the sales.
It's no Joke
I really liked his conformation....no obvious faults and very balanced. He looked like he would be better able to sire horses that could stretch out in distance as compared to Da Stoops, the other son of Distorted humor that stands at Stonewall. I bred a maiden mare to him in his first year at stud.
She is on the small side (but from bloodlines that could produce a large foal) and the resulting foal is quite refined. I have seen one other It's no Joke weanling and he is also on the small side. Looks like its best to breed a larger mare with good bone to him. One big concern is that Stonewall is currently being sued by Stan Fulton for nonpayment of the original purchase price of this stallion. As a result it seems that Stonewall has not supported this stallion as much as their other stallions.

trying to breakeven and have some fun
Tricky deal given the ownership situation right now...but any potential foal bred now should be selling just in time that everyone figures out that the media went way overboard with this recession stuff and prices start going up like they usually do. Now is the time to buy low and in a few years sell high, wasn't that Jimmy Buffet.
too weird to live...too rare to die

When you look at horses like Strong Contender and Value Plus and then look at him you can't help but feel that he is just an average horse and that if he wasn't by DH he would be in a regional market. That said, I bred to Saarland and other big impressive newbies and the bottom line is that ANY new sire is an unproven sire.
Zero chance I would take a shot at him on the bubble, especially when the season auctions are selling PROVEN sires at CHEAP prices.
BTW, I really like Stonewall and think they are top notch. Great staff.
