Pedigree Query

I am looking at Lawyer Ron pretty seriously. Looking for some opinions.
Do you believe he will be commercial or breed to race? Help me out here PQ, Talking foaling for the LA program..

langfur + Lord Avie + out of a mare that was bought for a whole $500 dollars= Breed To Race.

nothing wrong with that, but I dont' see him being a smashing success in the sales ring. Think he's make a good hard knocking sure. he's durable, has real legit classic speed, which only a handful of sires can honestly say they possessed at a world class level, and is bred to like turf and dirt. not much like to like. and he raced for 3 years.

They are really supporting Lawyer Ron with the pay from procedes stud fee. Stonewall is really gearing up to see some of the first LR foals hit the ground soon. I believe quite a few mares infoal to him are in KeeJan. But only time will tell what those weanlings are going to look like come sale time. I would back him for a LA bred anyday.

Why breed to an unproven stallion as a breed to race candidate? Do yourself a favor and stick to proven stallions you know sire race horses if that's the route you're going.

As a commercial play, he has some things going for him. He's pretty damn good looking and is flashier in the flesh than his pedigree would suggest.

Stonewall is also very good about cutting deals to mares who fit their stallions. If you can get a discounted fee, he should be profitable when selling the foal.

I too am looking at LR... I think he is GORGEOUS and I have always been a LANGFUHR fan. What line mares do you think for him.

I'd say he is neither at this point. Like I said to the person who liked War Pass and his sire Cherokee Run. Why gamble (big time) on the son when the Dad is proven and the same fee? If it was up to the nitwits at Stonewall Lawer Ron would have retired at the end of his 3yo year and be standing for $7500. I don't know how Stonewall is to deal with as a mare owner but if I was selling them a stallion I would need C.O.D.

I would love to see LR succeed. He was a top racehorse.

With War Pass the allure must be in getting early speed types that show well at the under tack shows.

Lawyer Ron is more exciting to me. Won at the classic distance, won presitigious races, and had a full career.
