Anyone check out this guy?
For 3k, he's a lot of pedigree and race record. He obviously won't be commercial but if he's anything like his sire, he'll be able to get an outstanding physical in a few of his foals.
That female family has been relevant for quite a while and can produce a big one at any given time. Have to love those Hooper bloodlines for outrunning and out producing what their pedigree would suggest on paper.
If his physical good, he's certainly worth a gamble for the smaller breeder, especially if you're looking at the smaller sales where a good physical wont fall thru the cracks.

This colt like any unproven guys would be a risk, but I don't think he's very bad for the price. I'm just not a big fan of his sire.
I loved this horse as a racehorse. He could flat run! To win the Derby trial the way he did, and then turn right back around and run 4th in the Derby! He was a nice honest, small horse that did a lot of things right.
I think he'll make it as a sire, but you can NEVER tell with these guys. They can have awesome pedigree and produce nothing, and vice versa.
We get a lot of new stallion retired every year. Some to much hype, yet other to little or none. But a good race horse doesn't mean a good stallion.
Give him a little shot, I think he's going to do OK.
My goodness friend, "Don't get Mad!"
