RIP Gone West

Bloodhorse is reporting that Gone West was euthanized due to complications of colic surgery Monday night. He was only 25.

How sad :(

This is real sad to me! I have a mare by his Belmont Stakes winning son Commendable.

Mill Ridge people have been very kind to me, and I know they cared for him.

RIP

He brought joy to so many people. He produced fine horses. We will enjoy watching his sons & daughters cross the finish line in the future & produce great runners to carry on his legacy.

May he be a star in heaven the way he was on earth!!
Thanks,

Kathy

I remember leaving work early one day so I could go out to Belmont and Gone West made his debut that day.

How sad, I never saw him race, but I like his pictures, such a magnificant horse to look at. RIP.

I have a Gone West granddaughter and have had the pleasure of knowing two of his sons and a daughter--all very talented and successful. Needless to say, he has always had a special place in my heart.

(((Hugs))) to those who cared for and loved him.
