I know he was shipped off to Korea, but did anyone see him/take conformation notes on him while he was in Kentucky?
Would love to know details about his physical/what he threw.

hi ASB
You might find it interesting to note that Taylor Made did NOT want to stand Yankee Victor at their farm. That in and of itself may (or may not) speak volumes as to what they thought of the horse.
Also...when YV was retired to stud, info was disseminated that he had one undescended testicle. I haven't heard if that did or did not in any way affect his prowess, libido or whatever.

I saw him a few years before he was sold. He was a nervous sort, he was out because the roofers scared him but they didn't bother the other horses. He was very sweet though and though he was in the paddock I didn't see anything really wrong with him. No legs on at right angles or anything. There are a couple photos here on the last album page:

I owned a percentage of a filly by him a few years ago that was an interesting character. Not only was she a big filly, she was a bit of a basket case. Turned out part of her bad attitude was the result of her feet stinging from the rock hard dirt surfaces out here in California (before synthetics came along). She became too dangerous to train so we had to unfortunately sell her to another outfit that gave her a try and she ended up racing in Arizona and Canada. She did well (although never broke her maiden) and then was retired as a broodmare. I believe her first foal is a filly by Titans Flyer.

Re: Yankee Victor-- Anyone seen him?
Saw him a bunch of times at Airdrie. Little plain in the head which is typical of the sireline, good neck and shoulder, good girth, a shade short of hip and a fraction weak through the hind leg. I remember he was light of bone (at least I thought he was but I think that most American horses are!) and offset in his knees (which you would expect in a Saint Ballado). Had a good colour to him though and a quality coat which made him stand out a bit.
There is a really good video of the horse (with fantastic background music  ) that can be found here.

I am pretty sure that he, Forest Camp and Exploit all have repatriation clauses in their sale contracts.
Fos, actually if memory serves me correctly Airdrie already bought a controlling 75% interest in Yankee Victor when he came off the track. I don't think it was a case of Taylor Made not wanting to stand the horse rather the majority owner wanting to stand him at their farm.

hi brogers
Hope all's going well for you. Are you still downunder?
Your description may explain (to some extent anyway) why there was such a strong sense that TM did NOT want to stand Yankee Victor, nor did they want to have a large ownership interest in him.
Calls were made by Team TaylorMade to numerous farms (in KY and FLA, and likely elsewhere) to see if there was interest in buying-into/standing YV. My understanding is that the horse was at Taylor Made for viewing (for some period of time anyway) while Team TM made an effort to get something done.
Airdrie/Jones apparently made a deal those involved were satisfied with...and the horse was moved to and stood at Jones' Airdrie. That's my understanding.
Best to ya.
