pleasantly perfect

pleasantly perfect had a nice winner in the last race at belmont on saturday. anybody know anything about this guy or seen him in person? he only raced once as a three-year old, i'm wondering if there's another reason for the late start other than maybe being by pleasant colony.

I think he had a infection of his heart, IIRC. Definitely sickness, not soundness related.

i have a maiden mare i'd love to send to him, 15.3-16 h, who's rather stout but w/not-so-great feet. i'm a little concerned that he's so large.

Feet are usually the 1st thing I look at (because the mare I ride has horrible hooves!), but I don't remember what his looked like, so I don't think they're exceptionally bad. I do remember that was dissappointing when I saw Johar. His are pretty small.

If your mare is big boned, you should be okay. I wouldn't breed a small, refined mare to him. You're likely to get a big bodied horse with small legs. That's what happens to a lot of people who breed their TB mares to the big warmbloods.
