Belong To Me might be a steal at $7,500 for a breed to race stallion. (IMO)
Candy Ride and City Zip too

I think Lane's End did a very good, very competitive, job with their pricing. We'll be booking mares there for sure.

you know what I always don't get?
How does it feel be that guy that just HAS to bred to curiln his first year, only to see his stud fee dropped by almost half by the time the first foals hit the track?
and it happens with all stallions, every year. i think that is facinating.

it is facinating.....seems to me this game is crazy..

...........which is why most of us are in it.

....what we need are price freezes, bailouts, and strict price controls...........hell this is the perfect biz for the US GOVERNMENT....

I'm a little surprised to see such a large drop on Lemon Drop Kid. He has a very high percentage of stakes winners. No pun intended.

I dont consider a drop in fees this year a "drop" perse, just a market correction. Any horses who's fees are the same are a rise, actually. I truly think fees should have dropped 1/3 across the board, so if you look at it that way, a lot of fees have remained at the same level. So Lemon Drop Kid actually pretty much remained the same.
I hope that made sense.

I am very happy with these prices too...the fees are actually below the yearling median for 09...now compare that to the Darley prices....Just submitted all my mares to lanes End stallions. crossing my fingers on A.P. Indy and Smart Strike.

I just received a call from Lane's End stating that they have approved my mare to be bred to Candy Ride. I feel like I just hit the lottery! Even though his fee is rising dramatically compared to years past I still think he is a bargain at 25K!

Gosh sometimes I wish I wasn't in CA. I feel like I'm missing out on all the good deals on stallions. I LOVE Belong to Me at $7,500.

Congratulations bfinellc & LB! I love Candy Ride and really wanted to send my mare to him but he was standing at Hill 'n Dale at the time and I was and am still boycotting them (don't ask). In the meantime, I sold one mare, took another mare I was going to send out of production and my one remaining broodmare doesn't match well with him.... such is life.
If you don't mid sharing, what are the names of the mares you're sending to him (at least I can drool!).
