Fusillade

Stallion Directory lists a horse named Fusillade entering stud at Pin Oak Lane Farm in PA in 2010 for a fee of $1500. Fusillade is a six year old horse by AP Indy out of Ring of Fire by Nureyev. The dam is an unraced full sister to Spinning World. Apparently, he only raced four times, had two wins, broke his maiden at 4 with a 95 Beyer. Anyone know what his physical problems were?

My emails may be incomplete, but I have one work for him in Nov. 07, one work in Mar. 08, then this year he finally starts working regularly. I have 3 races at Presque Isle, one on 8/6, one on 8/15, and one on 9/5.

Looking on Equibase's horse search I see he had a race at Pimlico on 5/26/07, so something must have happened to keep him off the track 2 years -- maybe they tried to bring him back once and he got hurt again?

I don't know what his injury was, but he was able to stand up to a steady diet of training/racing this year (I have him starting to have recorded works in April).

Fusillade carries a lot of pedigree for $1500 and John Ferguson bought him as a yearling for $800,000 so he must be a nice looking individual. It would be nice to know if he just bowed a tendon or had some other misfortune that might not be heritable.
