Alydar's last hurrah?

Postby brogers » Thu Jan 14, 2010 4:05 am

We have been doing quite a few TrueNicks Stallion Affinity Reports and we got a surprising one this morning from Turkey where the owners of a grandson of Alydar have run the report. Could he and Brother Derek be the last chance for Alydar?

But the most auspicious one is:

LION TAMER (Ch H 2000) http://www.pedigreequery.com/lion+tamer2

But a more recent hopeful, who entered stud duties in 2008 is:

Lion Tamer was a hell of a racehorse. It is a shame that we can cite so few Alydar line stallions to keep his branch going. Nobody would have predicted that Mr Prospector would outshine Alydar, but then I guess they also wouldn't have predicted Affirmed to fade so quickly as a sire.

Sometimes, all is needed is a lucky twist of fate with a little assistance from the appropiate mare (by the appropiate broodmare sire).

Take for example, Great Above (1972) and Bold Reasoning (1968) . Both honest sires were destined for obscurity until Holy Bull :D and Seattle Slew  emerged. The same may have ocurred with Polynesian  , but Native Dancer  saved his fate. Sometimes ironies ocurr, because we all know that horses, such as Alydar :) , deserves a longstanding legacy, but such is life. Who may have thought that Cees Tizzy's lineage :) would have emerged as one of the best in the market, more due to Tiznow :D than to himself.

Perhaps, Chester House 8) will fall within the lucky category soon!

I think it would be tough for Chester House .. he died after siring only a couple of crops. And he was by Mr. Prospector, whose line is not exactly obscure at this point.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Time may unfold things differently, but I am under the impression that Chester House’s daughter, Ventura (2004), and the gelding, Spring House (2002), (both millionaires) may help pave the way for the entire horse, DIVINE PARK (2004), to become a well sponsored and successful stallion ---at least, during this decade! His impeccable pedigree is a big plus and his record of wins per starts is quite impressive. I am sure many breeders may want to preserve the auspicious and highly regarded combination of Mr. Prospectors and Toussaud.

Of course, only time will tell if this will happen rather than the other side of the equation, namely, a far greater interest in Chester House's daughters ---precisely, because of Ventura and Toussaud.
