do you think he will make a good sire? I personally thought he was the best stallion prospect from last year. he can get 2 turns with ease, he has tactical speed, by a 2 time leading sire, and his dam is a grade 1 winner.
and for some reason.. why I don't know.. I just don't see him being that commercial of a sire.

Last I read, he was being pointed toward the Strub. And the only recent retirement I can find online is Denis of Cork. What happened?

He had an ankle injury. The article was pretty vague about when it happened.

I think he will make a sire. His mother was a total freak, winning the Del Mar Debutante in her second start. She had problems after that. He was a nice horse on the derby trail, and was good on synthetic as well as dirt. He will be hurt by the timing though, as stud plans for most people are already made. If he needs a year off due to injury, people are going to likely forget about him if he stands his first season in 2011.

Looks like it was a deteriorated sesamoid. He had to be a tough horse to stand Gary Stute's training.
I would think he will get a decent book even as late at it is. By Smart Strike out of a grade I mare. Had good speed and carried it against good horses. I've never taken a good look at him physically but he must be a pretty good specimen.
