ITBOA Stallion Season Auction

Postby bfinellc » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:41 am

The Iowa Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association are putting together a nice list of stallions for their stallion season auction. They currently have stallions from Kentucky, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arizona, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, etc. Want to save some money this year on your stallion fees? Check out the ITBOA Stallion Season Auction! All progeny of stallions sold at this auction are eligible to be nominated to the ITBOA Stallion Futurity and the ITBOA Stallion Stakes-both of which had purses in excess of $90,000 in 2010!

You can find the list of donated stallions here: http://www.thoroughlybred.com/sites/itboa/

Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.

Looks interesting... does the mare have to foal there or can she foal anywhere?

The mares can foal anywhere. As long as the foals are sired by one of the stallions that sell in this auction they can be eligible for the stallion stakes races (need to pay nomination fees to remain eligible). Last year's races did not have any horses from outside the state of Iowa...which is a shame because they are great purses and a pretty easy opportunity at black-type. So, not only can you get a reduced stallion fee (and the list of stallions keeps growing) you can have two, fairly easy opportunites at black-type! Make sure you bid!

Tappiano: More sires were added to the list today including some more from Kentucky. All told, right now there are 151 sires donated from 23 states, which should provide something for everyone! Hopefully the regional breeders will take a look at the auction!

Kathy: I'd just like to thank you again for the generous donation of your whole stallion roster! Hopefully the bidders will take advantage of the Fanlew offerings! Let's get you some black-type!

The ITBOA Stallion Season Auction has begun at www.thoroughlybred.com. With over 150 stallion seasons from 20 plus states this auction has something for everyone! Get a great price on a stallion season and make your foal eligible for some nice black-type races! And your foals can foal in any state/country and remain eligible for the races! Good luck with your bidding. The auction ends on Saturday, December 11th.

If you registered for past auctions, do you have to reregister or is there a way to use the old info?

Good question, Madelyn. My previous log-in worked so if you have registered before you shouldn't have to do it again (although they might ask you to verify or update your info). Good luck with your bids!

Lou Roe Farm just donated two seasons to Alajwad for you Florida breeders and two seasons to Pure Precision were added for the PA breeders. Many great opportunities for breeders in 20+ states. Remember that all proceeds go towards the Iowa Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association Stallion Futurity and the ITBOA Stallion stakes and you DO NOT have to foal in Iowa to be eligible for those races! No bidding yet on the New York stallions; no bidding yet on the Louisiana stallions; no bidding on Illinois or Indiana stallions. Make sure you get in on this auction and save yourself some money on your stud fees! Bid early and bid often as the auction ends on Saturday, December 11th. www.thoroughlybred.com

Two more sires were recently added to the ITBOA Stallion Season Auction: Kitalpha who stands for $12,500 live foal at War Horse Place in Kentucky and Minister of Fire who stands for $2,000 live foal at Country Gold Equine in Texas. Both stallions can be had for a fraction of their published price through the auction. Bidding ends on Saturday, December 4th so don't be left out. There is something for almost everyone at this auction! More than 150 stallions from more than 20 states! All progeny of the stallions sold in this auction are eligible for the ITBOA Stallion Futurity and the ITBOA Stallion Stakes regardless of what states they are foaled! Save yourself some money this breeding season and get your seasons here: www.thoroughlybred.com.
