Announced 2011 stud fees

Bandini $5K
Hat Trick $6K
Ready's Image $6.5K
Songandaprayer $6.5K
Successful Appeal $15K

There's a farm that has RESPONDED to the crisis in the marketplace by lowering fees.

I think they've responded to what breeders have to say but not necessarily in the way you mean.

Number of mares bred in 2010:

Bandini--76
Hat Trick--32
Ready's Image--63
Songandaprayer--57
Successful Appeal--99

99 mares to Successful Appeal is not a successful breeding season ???

Every one of those stallions would have been considered more than successful except for Hat Trick 20 years ago.

I wouldn't say omg look at those numbers.. but .. Walmac did HEAVY advertising to different regional markets last season. I don't correctly remember the exact promo though. I'm sure it's around somewhere. I think they got decent numbers though.

It is simple supply and demand: If those stallions had around 100 mares, which is now the standard, their fees wouldn't have gone down 10 cents.

The bottom 2 horses on the list are good deals, the top 3 shouldn't be in Ky so however low they go it doesn't matter to me they are overpriced unless they are paying you $5k+ to breed to them

A no guarantee season to Hat Trick is being offered in the ITBOA Stallion Season Auction. Right now the current bid is at $500 and it will probably finish around a grand...so if you want to go to Hat Trick at a reduced price give the ITBOA Stallion Season Auction a look. You can check out all of the stallion season offered (over 150) at www.thoroughlybred.com. One huge benefit of getting a season at auction other than the reduced price is that all foals of stallions donated and sold at the ITBOA auction are eligible for the ITBOA Stallion Futurity and the ITBOA Stallion Stakes regardless of what state they are foaled in. Last year's races each had purses in excess of $90,000 giving the breeders an easy opportunity at black-type!

BTW, Successful Appeal is one of the best values in Kentucky (IMO).
