There is a quote in the cited article that seems to be the medular reason for now: that he is the first son of Mizzen Mast (same owners) to stand in Europe. Right now, this seems to be a very understandable in-house business reason. If not the reason, then... who knows!

Piece of cake. He's a late-maturing, long running grass horse and there is NO market for late-maturing, long-running grass horses in the USA.

There is a very large market for later-maturing, long running grass horses in France, both on the flat and over jumps.
