I thought the Dollar/Tourbillon line was dead in the Western World except for Indian Ridge and his sons.

Yesterday, though, I found a tail male Tourbillon line stallion in France from Meridien. The contemporary stallion was a chaser and is named Discover d'Auteuil. He's being stood for chasing primarily and has a decent number of foals on the ground.

1) Has anyone here any information on him or his foals?
2) Does anyone here know of any other active Tourbillon line stallions anywhere? I thought there might have been a line in Japan, but cannot seem to remember where or why I thought that. I know it has something to do with Luthier.

Practicante sired a LOT of foals in Argentina, but there is little information about them in the PQ DB.

His sire, Pronto, was at Claiborne for awhile but appears to have been a failure, unless the database is woefully incomplete.

The last 'publicly standing' descendant of Ambiorix in the states that I'm aware of, French Seventyfive, was advertised for sale late last year by his longtime owner. He seems to have vanished since then, at least as far as being a stallion is concerned. He had stood his entire career in Oklahoma, servicing both QH and TB mares, few in number, with very few winners of any note. His best TB offspring that I could confirm was a mare, Miss French.

There are currently two sons of Indian Ridge siring offspring in N.A. -

The only one publicly advertised is SP Legal Jousting who stands in Ontario Canada and is owned by one of the posters to this board. He's had his first winner - and perhaps a second by now - from a very limited number of foals but just recently had three offspring for sale in the Canadian TB Breeders Sale. He is a well conformed individual and throws very nice looking offspring. His pedigree ought to be of interest to those with mares carrying both the Northern Dancer and Mr. Prospector/Fappiano lines close up in their pedigrees, wanting an outcross sire that offers inbreeding possibilities.

An unadvertised son of Indian Ridge was - and perhaps still is - doing private stud duties here in Texas :

Another SP stallion/offspring of the Indian Ridge sireline was standing at Trainer Dallas Keene's ranch, also here in Texas, but I'm not sure he's still there/still actively at stud? I have seen one, possibally two of his offspring either listed for sale or on race cards. (Sorry, but for the life of me I'm drawing a blank on that stallion's name as well.....when it comes to me I'll update. )

Finally, a few years back when I was actively researching and keeping up on any/all Tourbillion sireline stallions in the Americas I had run across a farm in New Mexico that was privately breeding a small number of TBs from another branch of the Tourbillion line via a French stallion, again who's name I can not recall. I'm not sure if they were for racing or other equine sports and do not recall ever seeing where one of the offspring of this program ever raced.

A long time ago (back in the late 1960's, early '70's) there was an Ambiorix son named Amblingorix standing at Lloyd Loop's Poplar fam in Bowe, Washington. He was a fine looking fellow with whom I developed quite a friendship. Lloyd was then my trainer, and I spent a lot of time at his farm. I recall that Amblingorix' best running son, Toss the Dices, went to stud for a time up here, but he doesn't list any progeny on this site.
Amblingorix was a tough, sound runner in his time.

Auatralia was fortunate to get Better Boy to our shores, he by the Djebel x Toubillon line. He was resposible for Century, whose son Rubiton produced the still active lines;- Adam, Beatus, Bulliton, Buriton, Masterprint and Presence.
Rubitons brother Euclase produce the stallion Run to Win, who is serving mares.
Perhaps the real claim to fame for Century, is that he produced Centaine, a stallion that went to New Zealand and made his name as a solid producer of quality stock, and, a great Broodmare sire. He has a son at stud in Australia called Kinjite, who is also producing good daughters, such as the dam of the winner of the Sydney Cup 2 miles, No Wine No Song.
Alas, as we continue into this century, we will be losing the Herod line, unless we can get some good German blood back in the mainstream to replenish the breed.

Thanks for mentioning Legal Jousting jellac. Viney and I have discussed him briefly before.

He currently has had only 4 foals to race, and three winners. The most recent is Red Eagle, who has been competitive at Allowance level at Woodbine (Ontario Sired).

Hello everyone--I'm new as a contributor, but I've lurked here for years.

I just wanted to let everyone know that French Seventyfive is alive and well and breeding at Prairie Storm Ranch in central Kansas. Earl Starkey, his previous owner in OK sold him to John Horn.

We have one mare confirmed in foal to F75 for 2012 and another that's been bred but not checked yet. Late foals, obviously. We're especially excited about Mare #1 (Kay's Last Kestrel--Lucky South X Yeah Kay) because she already has Tourbillon 3 times and is tail female through Cherokee Rose to a Byerley Turk mare, if that's significant.

We also have a yearling filly by him out of Mare #2 (Shocking Number--What a Shock X Cool Little Number) that we're very pleased with.

I've had horses for years (45+) but was never particularly interested in breeding or bloodlines until I learned about the scarcity of BT sireline horses and BT lines in general, at least in North America. Thanks PQ (especially Jellac and Viney) for getting me interested in these bloodlines!

BTW, the name of Dallas Keen's stallion is Final Row. Don't know if he's still breeding or not.

Just found out today that our other mare is confirmed in foal to French Seventyfive, for a full sibling to our yearling. Fingers crossed that all goes well from here!

another Sire tracing in the male line to Tourbillon is Linngari (Indian Ridge - Lidakiya by Kahyasi) bred by the Aga Khan.

So far I remember, it was planned to stand him in Germany, but the plan was dropped.

Roselier was another very good NH Sire from the 'Meridien' branch. Like most of the "male" NH runners were gelded, so his Sire line doesn't seem to exist anymore.

According to their website, the Irish National Stud stands Indian Haven (Indian Ridge X Madame Dubois by Legend of France).

There are a few Indian Ridge sons standing:

Domedriver
Namid
Sleeping Indian

in addition to the few already mentioned.
