This sunday morning I saw the swallows return to Santa Anita. The fly all the way from South America to the US in 3 months time. They will build their nests and raise their young and then return to South America after breeding season.

When I walk in the shedrows I have seen the swallows fly threw the barns to play a game of try and catch me. The swallows are the size of a sparrow. When they return to Santa Anita it means spring is near.

Aren't they due in San Juan Capistrano later this month? Or did I miss their annual return?

The swallows are supposed to return to mission San Juan Capistrano on Mar. 19, but sometimes they pick up a tail wind and return earlier, like this year.

Lets hope the swallows bring the Calif. sunshine back, as all us natives have had enough holy water from above. Amen
