The Green Monkey!

Postby johnrr88 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 3:03 pm

I'm thinking of sending a mare to Florida and she's a great match on paper. Has anyone seen this guy's babies? He couldnt run a lick, but he;s a certainly good looking devil...Still, I'd be highly surprised if he's really that successful. Any insight into how his babies are selling?

You'll just encourage them, you know. 8)

Upon further reflection.

From this photo,

is it the picture or me, but does he strike anyone else as having a head/neck too small for the rest of him? An upright shoulder? A longish back?

TGM was a joke and a sales pissing match between 2 countries. I wouldn't send a mare to him even if everything on paper said it was good. His conformation is a step above poor and for the sake of return I hope you're ok with racing whatever you get because they are going to have to be stellar to even get a look. Sales figures will be based purely on whatever the mare brings to the table as no one give The Green Monkey any serious consideration.

His neck is way too short. He is a horse that does not fit together - couldn't run a lick. He looks like a ransom note. Probably should have been named "Ransom Note..."

Oh, he could run a lick. It was just that that lick was 1 furlong as a 2 year old and there aren't too many races for thoroughbreds at that distance. Judging by the picture above either his neck is too short or his head is too long. I think it is a bad picture that doesn't flatter either his head or neck (which is possibly a little too short), it all depends upon how you look at it. Looking at this pic - he has a beautiful head.

You have to love the Stallion Register ad though, "World Record Holder" Normally it is mentioned what the record is. Must have run out of white space on the page.

Dunno about pedigrees, but The Pink Monkey was the name of a topless bar near Austin, Texas.

Who would go into a topless bar called The Pink Monkey? Sounds like a place where all the dancers have facial hair and haven't shaved their legs.

I wonder who registered "Kiss My Monkey" - I would have thought the Jockey Club would find that name objectionable??
