I just saw him in the breeding shed on Friday when I took a mare of mine to Ashford to be bred to Scat Daddy. Grand Slam looked in the picture of health and covered his mare with aplomb. No longer a flash sire he was nevertheless a good bread and butter stallion with good appeal to trainers. He will be missed.

A tough week for Ashford--first Montjeu, now Grand Slam. I hope bad news doesnt come in three's for them.
