candy spots...

this probably been asked a hundred times, but his spots. Those arent Birdcatcher spots; they dont look like. Are they Tetrarch spots? Any other pictures of horses like this in his pedigree? Didnt see any in a quick search.

Am not a color expert, but Candy Spots' white looks to be a discreet expression of sabino, imo. The Tetrarch's spots were probably a variant pattern of graying, mode of inheritance is unknown. He's at 5d in the pedigree of one of our mares. All 'regular' grays between them, but this mare had the same spots before graying out completely.

well Tetrarch spots are a type of greying, and the ones on Candy Spots seem to be about the same size, and are similar placed over the hindquarters.

Candy Spots seems to have been a sabino. I read he passed his coloring on to at least a few foals. He was just a really odd expression of it. The Tetrarch had chubari spots, those are a greying pattern thing.

Are you talking about the CS that was trained by Rex Ellsworth?
