Calumar

Calumar just moved to NY and his current owner told me that his racing career was not good because he was a roarer and multiple operations to help this were baddly botched.
He also said that Calumar didn't have much opportunity in the mares that were available to him. In his crop analysis, his SI is 0.32. I can understand a lower SI if he was regional in AZ, but his ComSI is 0.62 and that doesn't seem to speak well for him dispite how wonderful his pedigree appears.
His Broodmare stats are 27 producing daughters, 2 stakes producers. His
daughters have produced 41 foals, 18 starters (43%), 10 winners (55%), 1 SW (5%), $19,353 average earnings per starter.
What do the experienced people think of his potential to have a resurected stud career? Or would you consider that he's proven himself to not be a good candidate if breeding to race?
Thanks
Kami
