He is special because he spent a part of his youth in the Netherlands.

Thanks for posting erins isle. You likely already know how much I am interested in this sire line  .

A truly great race horse who rose from humble beginnings to became the cornerstone of Quatar Racing/Pearl Bloodstock, an absolute crowd favorite in Australia racing fans and now has a very real, well supported chance to continue the Nicobar/Indian Ridge/Ahonoora> Tourbillion > Byerly Turk sire line in flat and jump racing circles.

Here's a link to his pedigree:

Found this note on Dunaden's sire Nicobar (and the Byerly Turk/Ahonoora sire line as it pretty much stands today as well)...might be of further interest:

He is standing at stud in Ireland now down in Kilkenny.
(A totally stunning part of Ireland, if you're ever here)

Hello,
with regard of the Tourbillon Sireline, another Sire from this male strain is Linngari (via Indian Ridge).

Obviously he stands now in South America, because only a handful of his progeny is listed as European.

Vaguerly I rememeber, he should stand in Germany, it seems that plan has failed.

Regards, Bettina

Bettina - Always good to hear from you! And here is a link to Linngari's pedigree on this site:

http://www.pedigreequery.com/linngari

and here are the limited details provided as to his breeder/owner and race major races won:

Owner: Peter Walichnowski
Breeder: H. H. The Aga Khan's Studs, S. C.
Winnings: 21 Starts: 9 - 2 - 1, 1.499.703 euros (until 10-21-2007)

At 3: Won Superior Mile(Eng)
At 4: Won Al Fahidi Fort(UAE-G2), Dubai al Rashidiya(UAE-G3), Goldene Peitsche(Ger-G2)
At 5: Won Premio Vittorio di Capua (Ity-GI,1.600m-T, San Siro)

Foaled April 1, 2002
He was quite the successful shipper racing/winning in England, UAE, Germany and Italy.
Looking further at his progeny reports - on this site -Its hard for me to discern where exactly Linngari stood at stud - maybe shuttling between Brazil and Germany/France(?) as his foals' designated country of birth is scattered between those three countries year on year...then there is the errant offspring of Turkish birth to further confuse his whereabouts as a stud. Do stallions' get shuttled between Germany and S. American county locales? I don't know why they wouldn't but confess to not having heard of this sort of shuttle arrangement before.

A special horse indeed!

Hopefully history can repeat itself :D .
My colt is growing up in Holland, he is from the Ahonoora sireline and he will hopefully soon go into training.
I would be very, very happy and grateful with earnings of Eur 50,000 however  .

Heloo,
many thanks for your reply.

According a small ad at your racingpaper "Sportwelt", Linngari stands at the "Haras du Petit Tellier" in France, see www.petittellier.com.

Shuttle Sires are uncommon in Germany, the only exception was Silvano, who was sent to South Africa and after a short spell in Germany, he remained in this country.

Regards, Bettina
