It should not be lost on NY breeders that every winner on NY Bred showcase day was by an out of state stallion!

Even looking at the entries, probably more than 75% of them were by out of state stallions.

Not a ringing endorsement for the locals.

When looking at superior runners in any statebred situation I believe you would find a majority of those runners were or are sired by out of state stallions. New York has a very rewarding statebred program and therefore breeders that can afford going to top sires and foaling in state do so and have dominated statebred stakes from the beginning of the program.
