Looking for any info on Pocket Flower
I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'm trying to track down any info on a stallion named Pocket Flower for a friend. He was a 1972 dark bay or brown horse by Zip Pocket out of Full Flower by Ambiorix. (He's in the database.) It says he won the Ak-Sar-Ben Futurity (a 2 year-old race?), and my friend says he won the Cornhusker Handicap at Ak-Sar-Ben as well. She'd like to know if anyone has pix of him or his offspring. He was apparantly not a very good sire and had a hard life, but she knew him at some point in his life, and he meant a great deal to her. Thanks for any help!

When i saw the name i was reminded...
Of two other horses that ran at Aksarben (big fan of that track here) one was a mare named Ming Flower (who's been bred to QH now) and the other was Pocket Boy, and Full Pocket. I can't say i know anyone that knew that horse your looking for, but I will ask if you have checked the Aksarben.com website??? I know the owner of that site and he might have some great info and he's got lots of pictures from the tracks heyday before it was torn down.

Let me know how things turn out....
Nebraska is my home range and if the horse was around there i might be able to find out a few things for you. IF he was left to breed in that state!!
Its the downside of the jockey club and thoroughbred's changing hands that there is no record of current ownership of a horse really. You can only look for progreny i guess and go back from there if the current breeder keeps the horse.
