Forgotten stallions

Postby pembroke » Sat May 28, 2005 7:32 pm

I was just sitting here looking at the pedigree of a stallion (Mahogany Hall) and thinking he is being wasted because he is not being promoted and advertised. It occured to me that there are most likely a lot of forgotten stallions around. So, if you know of one, put his name here and a little about him. ( Mahogany Hall beat Serenas Song in the Whitney) I'm just curious about "whats out there."

I would say Tejano Run is one. He's significantly improving his mares.

I would say Sundance Ride is one standing in Massachusetts

Sundance Ridge a stud standing in Massachussetts did not have a great race career and he by a less than popular sire of sires in Cox's Ridge but look at some of the runners considering the mares he has been bred to. He could be a very useful sire especially if bred to better mares. My Boy Adam another very useful sire has not got the best mares and has been produced some decent runners. My Boy Adam ran 2nd in the Charles H. Strub.

hi guys

When I first saw Mahogany Hall...I felt...he's okay...but not worthy of a serious shot...Yawn.

I still feel the same today.

Conversely...when I first saw Blumin Affair I felt he was entitled to a fair shot (I felt he had a lot of the qualities of his grand-sire Roberto)...but the price-tag on his head was too big at the time...so he left Lex and was destined for regional obscurity. He was by Dynaformer (who today is considered by many to be a big-time horse) but then...he was still considered a second (maybe third) string sire.

FOS,
You beat me to it. I was also going to say Blumin Affair.
