Umrigar - New stallion for True Colours Farm!
Not that I REALLY needed another one, but I have always loved this guy and am thrilled that we get to stand him now.
Umrigar is a 16hh chestnut and white sabino Thoroughbred stallion, by Rahy out of Jabot (Bold Ruler / Prince John lines)
Rahy is the sire of Fantastic Light (winner of 8.5 million and Horse of the Year in Europe), Serena's Song (winner of 3.3 million - Hall of Fame) and Noverre (winner of 1.5 million and Champion 3 year old miler in England)
Umrigar's pedigree is pure European turf, at 1+ miles in length, perfect for those looking for a fabulous sound, tough and durable sire for their event and show prospects.
Umrigar was a winner of $86,000.00 in allowance and stakes races and will be inspected this fall for his CSHA approval (Bronze Premium).
Umrigar is a beautifully balanced stallion, with excellent conformation, athletic movement and that eye catching and unique colour to add the final "icing" on the cake!
Pictures are up on my website -

and Umrigar will be available both Live Cover and AI for the remainder of the 2005 season as well as 2006.
Reduced bookings will be available for the remainder of 2005 and early booking discounts will also be taken for the 2006 breeding season.
Listed with both the AQHA and the APHA as well.
Add some proven bloodlines, colour, flash and proven athletic ability to your foal and breed your mare to Umrigar!

He HAS thrown some real runners already, just not a lot of them and the shame is, he has only been bred to some less than ideal mares, and not the best of mares so even fighting those odds, he has done very very well.
He was 60th on the leading sires of Canada list as of December 21st, which in itself isn’t great – but bearing in mind that it was based on only four runners it’s pretty darn good.
What strengths do I need to exemplify for him, based on pure racing pedigree and ability alone?
Thanks!

Don't tempt me, these webbed feet are getting to be rather a drag
I used to walk with some grace, now i drag these flippers around behind me and the darn horse keep stepping on them. LOL!!
I have a funny story from this morning...
I went out to water this morning and found my month old colt standing with all four feet in his water tub so I called him a retard and extracted him from his plight, During extraction mode I look across the paddock and what do I see! My stallion is standing with HIS front feet in his tub!!!!!
Lord i almost peed my pants!I'm still getting the giggles from it! Thank goodness for rubber tubs no one gets hurt. Who says horses is dummmmmm.LOL

Obviously a heritable trait ...

Oh that is too funny......I like the "it must be an obvious trait" part....COMN!!! LOL. And Donna......did you not get the storm we got last night?? Phone lines are still down at our place and power was off until 4 am. Funnel cloud actually went through Fergus....don't know where it touched down yet, but being in the Insurance business I am sure we will know soon.
Also, you bet I am interested in talking about a possible "date". I have to warn you that, Skye (as we call her......well among other things.....lol) is quite the hussy......Can you do a hypo on it?

Donna in that picture he looks like a liver chestnut and that is one of my fav chesnut colors. Had a mare that color with no white at all, and I thought her very cunning.
Now, StealingKat, that pup trying to copy the ole dad - if only - if ONLY you had been able to catch that on film. OMGIH, that is the funniest tale. Dad standing in his water bin is funny enough - guess you have a self-medicator there, if he's ever in need of soaking his legs, you can have him do it himself, twice a day, eh? OMGIH - all four feet from that little guy, I am laughing...

Don't have to shovel it eh ( I through the eh in there just for sport
) Ever have your boots suck off by a mud vortex ?.. It is amazing how hard you land on your bottom when trying to get out of the mud. The horses all line up at the fence and laugh at you. I'll never forget the time my knee popped out and I had to commando crawl to the house from the barn with my stupid dogs jumping on my head, I was screaming for my ex to come and help and the dogs thought I was playing! Where's Lassie when you need him? Anyhow after about an hour I get to the front steps at which point Roland pops his head out and asks "Why are you covered in mud" I can laugh about it now but I was sure grumpy at the time........I'd shovel snow anyday over all this mud! I grew up in the Kootneys so I've seen my share of snow
Always bet on the grey!!

The boys LIKE hussy's!
They are their favorite kind of mares!
And sure beats the ones that try and kick everyone to smithereens as well ...
Briarhalo - email me - [email protected]
I dont think that I have your email address. We had the storm last night but just rain and heavy-ish sort of winds - nothing serious - but I heard to the north it was quite brutal ...
Inyureye - I just saw him once and I think he was a darker chestnut. Whether he was a liver or not, cant remember 100%. I'll know soon though!
Stealingkat - others may sympathize. After this past brutal winter where the snow never ended, I'll take mud and warmer weather and rain anytime (she says now, until the boot sucking mud comes around once again!
