Has anyone seen this horse now in FL? He started out at Vinery and is listed as getting 47% foals his first year. Now in FL, does he have fertility / libido issues? Correctness issues?

aurora - do a search on his name and I think you will find several posts about him - his conformation and various opinions of his potential at stud.

My search didn't find anything noteworthy. Perhaps you would be so kind as to summarize?

Scorpion does have fertility problems. I spoke to the farm early this spring and that's what they told me. Here is the contact number: 352-622-8854. He still is advertised as "Priviate". I've not been to see him so I can't comment on conformation. From his photo's and race record, he seems well worth a look.

Hi Aurora,
I did read (and was told by Vinery) that Scorpion had fertility issues - but like you I think he's an interesting horse. I saw him when he was standing at Vinery and he's a nice looking horse - well balanced, good bone, good size. I liked him better than Yonaguska- he had much better bone and better conformation overall. I think they were both new sires in KY at that time, standing for 10K. Then Scorpion was moved to FL. I think it might be worthwhile to purchase a mare who is already in foal to him, if she is a decent breed to race or commercial type. He may not be getting the number of mares (or foals) to be commercial, however.
